-
- : I suppose its different now that the tables are turned. Lets look back in the
- : past when the Mac was percieved to be overpriced and Amiga owners constantly
- : harp on that.. Amiga users are using the same excuses as Mac people when they
- : had to defend their over priced hardware.
-
- Back in 80's and early 90's macs were not percived as to be overpriced,
- they WERE overpriced. In '91 I had a choice of getting Mac, 33Mhz 486sx
- clone, and A3000. When comparing all three, Mac lost in a first round:
- proprietary everything, terribly mutitasking OS(comparing to AmigaOS) and
- way overpriced.
-
- : I was an Amiga user in the 80's when
- : the Amiga provided more bang for the dollar.
-
- Oh, so you 'percived' macs as overprived too???!
-
-
- Now, the (sad)truth is that there's no Amiga being sold in NA. So how can
- you compare something what doesn't exist in NA to PowerMAC.
-
- : The current available Amiga in NA is the A4000T which costs $2800. Not
- : everyone needs a Toaster. How do you expect to expand the market at that
- : price?
-
- A4000T is made for video market and it is priced acordingly. If you
- do video editing and want your 'bang for the dollar' A4000T + Toaster is
- still an attractive buy.
-
- If you wan't to prove anything to anyone and yourself wait till Walker
- and PPC cards come. Sure, as of today, Amiga might be not-so-attractive
- for Mr newbie but it is still worth the wait for a lot of people having
- Amiga already.
